HELP! is a very powerful hard disk management program. HELP! can
be used to isolate the user from DOS or as powerful utility
program for hard disk maintenance.
This program only uses 7000 bytes of your memory when you run
programs from within the HELP! environment. The program is not
memory resident and therefore ``gets along well'' with other
programs.
HELP! allows you to Copy, Compare, Erase and Move one or more
files. The Move Command allows the moving of files between
disks, as well as directories on the same disk. The Copy Command
can prompt you when you are about to overwrite a file. This
prompt is a message showing the date, time and size of both the
the source file and the file you are about to overwrite. You can
also instruct HELP! to overwrite files that are older than the
source file automatically -or- overwrite files always without
prompting.
You can modify all attributes of a file including its date and
time stamps. The file Locate Command allows you to locate one or
more files on your disk by searching each directory for a file
match. The Equipment Command reports on the equipment in the
current machine.
The Tree of one or more disks can be read and saved to disk for
recall next time the program is loaded. This saves the long tree
reads that many other programs have. This tree can also be used
in specifying the destination directory of the Copy, Move and
other Commands.
HELP! supports the 43 line mode for the EGA and the 43 and 50
line modes for the VGA. The file display window can be enlarged
to allow the names of up to 215 files to be displayed on the
screen at one time. This makes moving and erasing files very
convenient when maintaining your hard disk.
A file View Command is also included. This allows the viewing of
up to four files simultaneously. Two or more files can be
scanned for there differences with the View Command.
There is a Print Command for formatted and un-formatted printing.
A hex dump screen displays ASCII as well as EBCDIC.
HELP! also offers mouse support to make your time maintaining
your hard disk systems productive.
A complete Macro Editor with 6 file editing capability is
included and the editor can also be used stand alone. If you
don't like the HELP! editor, your own editor or word processor
can be used from within the HELP! environment. The Editor
features pull down menus and a Wordstar compatible command set.
If you like clean, logically laid out screens, you will like
